Holography and the Gravitational S-Matrix

Abstract:

It has been advocated that the AdS/CFT correspondence should contain the gravitational S-Matrix, and in particular should encode a unitary description of black hole formation and evaporation. We report on progress towards and obstacles to understanding local gravitational physics from a holographic perspective.
