Soft-Collinear-Effective-Theory and B-Meson Decays

Abstract:

Soft-collinear effective theory (SCET) provides a systematic tool to factorize short- and long-distance QCD effects in high-energy processes with light energetic hadrons or hadronic jets. I will give an overview of the basic theoretical concepts behind SCET, and discuss some of the main applications.
