We kindly ask all participants to fill in the
online application form as soon
as possible.
There are fellowships
available for junior scientists covering the
hotel and part of the local expenses. Our financial resources
make it necessary to limit the number of supported participants
who will be selected among the applicants. Applications for
fellowships should be submitted before Oct. 14, 2007.
Please arrange for one letter of recommendation to be emailed
before Oct. 14, 2007 to
vienna.theor-physik@univie.ac.at . You will be notified
by end of October.
We invite applications for talks
from researchers working in areas related to the focus
of the seminar. Junior participants, including advanced graduate
students, post-doctoral fellows, and junior faculty, will be
given priority. Applications should be submitted before
Oct. 14, 2007. You will be notified by end of October.
Accommodation
will be provided in nearby pensions and hotels, please let us
know your wishes well in advance! If you are applying for accommodation
later than by Oct. 21, 2007 we kindly ask you
to directly address yourself to the Vienna Tourist Information
www.info.wien.at .
We also invite applications for posters
related to the focus of the seminar. Applications should be
submitted before Oct. 28, 2007.
The seminar will start on Friday Nov. 30 at
09:00 and end on Sunday Dec. 02 around 13:00; it will take place
at
"Großer Hörsaal Materialphysik"

In addition to the seminars we cordially
invite you to attend the poster and discussion sessions on
Friday and Saturday afternoon; there will be a Public
Lecture on Friday
evening and a Conference Reception on Saturday evening. The
detailed program will be communicated in the next announcements.
The conference is running on a limited budget so we will not
be providing pens, paper or conference bags. Copies of the schedule
and the list of participants will be available, however.
Registration will begin on Friday Nov. 30 at
08:30 outside the lecture hall. At registration you will be
asked to pay the registration fee of € 50.
Payment must be by cash; we cannot accept credit cards.
There will be no registration fee for students,
members of the Faculty of Physics of the University of Vienna,
members of the High Energy Physics Institute of the Austrian
Academy of Sciences, or for current visitors of the Erwin Schrödinger
International Institute of Mathematical Physics.

of this year's Vienna Seminar two
intensive courses will be held in parallel:
"Quantum Field Theory and Noncommutative
Geometry" by Harald Grosse
"Local Quantum Physics" by Jakob Yngvason

the courses will be free of charge, financial support for living
expenses is available for MSc or PhD students coming from the
partner institutions of the "Central
European Joint Program of Doctoral Studies in Theoretical Physics".
