Johannes Wessels (Münster):
Heavy Ion Results from the ALICE Experiment
Abstract:
This talk will focus on the results obtained with the ALICE
experiment during the first heavy ion run at
√(sNN)
= 2.76 TeV, which took place at the end of 2010.
We will present data on the bulk properties of the medium created in such collisions, discuss flow
observables, particle production as well as spectra of identified particles out to large transverse
momenta. In comparing to reference data obtained in pp collisions we discuss in particular the
modification of high pT particles traversing the hot and dense medium. Furthermore, we will
present particle correlations and measurements of quarkonia as well as heavy flavor production.
