Status and physics at LHCb

Abstract:

LHCb is an experiment designed to search for new physics effects in rare and CP-violating processes in decays of B and D mesons. Using an integrated luminosity of 340 pb-1, many interesting measurements have been performed, in particular an upper limit on the branching fraction for rare Bs → μ+μ− decays and a measurement of the CP-violating phase in Bs mixing. More interesting results can be expected this winter as the integrated luminosity has surpassed 1 fb-1.
