Zhifeng Li (Vienna):
Eigenvalue Spectrum of the Reduced Salpeter Equation with Harmonic Interaction by Solving the Corresponding Differential Equation
Abstract:
The reduced Salpeter equation is the most
straightforward relativistic generalization of the Schrödinger equation. For a harmonic interaction
it is equivalent to a second-order ordinary differential equation. The corresponding spectrum of
mass eigenvalues (and associated eigenfunctions) can be obtained by standard numerical solution of
this eigenvalue problem. This procedure is applied to different Lorentz structures of the interaction
kernel.
