"CHALLENGES IN PARTICLE PHENOMENOLOGY"

Hans-Ulrich Martyn (Aachen):

Determination of SUSY parameters at LHC/ILC

Abstract:

Methods and techniques will be discussed to discover supersymmetry and to exploit its properties at forthcoming collider experiments. Both initial measurements at the LHC and high precision data from the future ILC appear to be necessary to unravel the underlying supersymmetry theory and to determine its parameters in a model-independent way. A consistent scheme and set of conventions are proposed to relate physical observables to the Lagrangian parameters. Extrapolation to high energy scales will allow to uniquely distinguish between different supersymmetric theories and the supersymmetry breaking mechanism.
