for their help and advice.
We kindly ask all participants to fill in the
online application form as soon
as possible. Accommodation will be provided in nearby pensions
and hotels, preferably in two-bed rooms as the number of one-bed
rooms is rather limited. If you prefer other hotels or if you
are applying later than by the end of October we kindly ask you
to directly address yourself to www.info.wien.at
.
We invite applications for talks and posters from researchers
working in areas related to the focus of the seminar. Applications
should be submitted before Sept. 30, 2005. Junior participants,
including advanced graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and
junior faculty, will be given priority.
There are fellowships available covering the hotel
and part of the local expenses. Our financial resources make it
necessary to limit the number of supported junior participants
who will be selected among the applicants. Applications for support
should be submitted before Sept. 30, 2005. Please fill in the
online application form correspondingly
and arrange for one letter of recommendation to be emailed before
Sept. 30, 2005 to
vienna.theor-physik@univie.ac.at . You will be notified
by the second half of October.
The seminar will start on Friday Nov. 25 at 09:00 and end on Sunday
Nov. 27 at lunch time; it will take place at
"Großer Hörsaal des Instituts
für Materialphysik"
Boltzmanngasse 5 / 3rd floor
A-1090 Vienna
In addition to the seminars we cordially invite
you to attend the poster and discussion sessions on Friday and
Saturday afternoon; there will be a Public Lecture on Friday evening
and a Conference Reception on Saturday evening.
The conference is running on a limited budget so we will not be
providing pens, paper, conference bags etc. Copies of the schedule,
list of participants etc. will be available, however.
Registration will begin on Friday Nov. 25 at
08:30 outside the lecture hall. At registration you will be asked
to pay the registration fee of € 50 (except for students).
Payment must be by cash; we cannot accept credit cards.
Please read the previous
announcements of the Vienna Central European Seminar 2005
and check for forthcoming updates.
We remind you to also have a look at
http://www.univie.ac.at/central.europe for information on
scientific activities in the Central European region and to submit
details about your own events.
Looking forward to meeting you in Vienna, yours
Helmuth Hüffel
