Heterotic Brane World
Heterotic E8 x E8 string theory is a promising source of grand unified model building. It can accomodate the successful aspects of grand unification while avoiding problems like doublet-triplet splitting in the Higgs sector and fast proton decay. We exploit the geometrical properties of the theory as a guideline for realistic model building.
